It has been a dream of mine to return West again for quite some time. A good friend of mine and I have been tentatively planning (or maybe 'imagining' would be more appropriate) this trip away from the city and all things trivial. We have already thought of the perfect playlist to accompany our very long road-trip-to-be (first on the list, Home). Many of my childhood vacations took place against a backdrop of pine trees, mountains, campfires and open spaces; quite frankly, I miss it. I would love to venture back anywhere west of South Dakota, maybe re-visit Wyoming or Colorado. Unfortunately our trip has yet to commence, but this beautiful autumn air full of clarity is only the more encouraging. So, as I sit in a coffee house off campus looking out at the changing colors and grey-soaked sky, I can already smell the campfire and ponderosa pine, can't you?
